MIT Wins 2001 International AUV Competition

The MIT team won first place in the 2001 International Autonomous Vehicle Competition.   Their entry, the ORCA-IV, successfully located the hidden underwater target and mapped the area around it to the satisfaction of the judges.

The MIT AUV Team was founded in 1998 by Zefram Labs Engineers.  MIT won the competition that year and again in 1999.  This year, Zefram Labs got involved with the project, assisting the team with sonar electronics and data analysis software.
